LMJSA - Not Just A Great Idea
Without the generosity of corporations, companies and individuals like you, LMJSA would just be a great idea.
We've all had them, a Great Idea - something that would really benefit the community. But how do you take it to fruition? Charitable Giving from people like you! LMJSA started out with a few show tickets that were generously donated to give to our donors. Donors then told their friends and co-workers about a little grass-roots effort to get kids out of the asphalt jungle and onto the water!
Making a tax-deductible, charitable donation to the Lake Mead Junior Sailing Acadmey is making an investment in your community. We're not teaching "little rich kids" how to sail a boat. We're teaching ALL KIDS how to enjoy the great outdoors, respect and protect our precious natural resources and have a ton of fun in a sailboat along the way!
General Fund
Donating to the General Fund helps us take care of day-to-day operational expenses including program insurance, instructor training, course markers, replacement boat parts, etc., so that we can offer the sailing program at an affordable tuition.
New Boat Fund
A donation to the New Boat Fund goes directly toward the purchase of new sailing dinghies for all of our junior sailors to use. Early on we'll be purchasing Laser Performance's "Bug," named 2009 Boat of the Year by Sailing World Magazine, for our beginner, intemediate and advanced sailing classes. As our program grows, we'll look toward purchasing CFJs or 420s, both multi-sail, two person boats that are sailed nationally at the collegiate level.
Scholarship and Grant Fund for At-Risk Youth
Making a donation to the Scholarship and Grant Fund makes it possible for at-risk youth to participate in our program at no cost to their families. This is an excellent opportunity for you to help socio-economically disadvantaged kids in our community who might not otherwise have the chance to join a program like this.
